Check in and weigh in is from 1:30pm-2pm, after which there will be a 20min general warmup.  At 2:20pm, Flight 1 has 15min to establish a 1RM Snatch.  Flight 2 will follow immediately, followed by any remaining flights.  After all flights finish Snatches, the Flight 1 will have 15min to establish a 1RM Power Clean.  The same format will follow for Front Squats, then the Deadlift.  After all the lifting, the Broad Jump event will take place.  Each participant will receive 2 chances to establish their best Broad Jump.

Winners are determined by Sinclair formula for the 4 lifts, along with their best Broad Jump, in inches, being added to that Sinclair total for a Supertotal.  Highest Supertotal wins.  We will announce winners from the Youth(17-u), Open(18-34), and Masters(35-Up) divisions, for Males and Females.  Winners of each division will receive a $50 cash prize.

Why do we do this event?

Jerry C. Arline, Sr was the original Coach for HWC Head Coach Dan Rose. He first taught Coach Dan about the Olympic Sport of Weightlifting way back in 1992. Unbelievably selfless and generous, Coach Arline opened up his home gym to not only Dan, but to many of the local youth in the little town of Pahokee, FL.

Coach Dan spent the better part of 4 years learning from and training with Coach Arline in various implements of sports and strength & conditioning, ultimately leading to Dan beginning the journey of competitive Weightlifting in 1995.

Coach Arline passed away in 2008, but his legacy lives on in the Harrisburg Weightlifting Club, founded in 2013.

This fundraiser will help offset athlete expenses, which on average, run $6000/yr.

Sponsor our athletes by donating a dollar amount per kg lifted or inches jumped during this annual Lift-A-Thon.

Come enjoy food, drinks, music, raffles, community, and watch our athletes perform, as they prepare for the 2024 National Championships!!!

IN OUR COMMUNITY, THERE ARE FEW THINGS MORE IMPORTANT THAN FOSTERING OUR LOCAL YOUTH ATHLETES.

SINCE 2013, THE HARRISBURG WEIGHTLIFTING CLUB, A NON-PROFIT IRC 501(C)(3), THROUGH THE OLYMPIC SPORT OF WEIGHTLIFTING, HAS PROVIDED STUDENTS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 6 AND 17, A SAFE PLACE TO GET PHYSICALLY ACTIVE, MAKE CONNECTIONS WITH THEIR PEERS, AND EARN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS. THE SPORT TEACHES THEM DISCIPLINE, GIVES THEM SELF-CONFIDENCE, AND SHOWS THEM THAT HARD WORK PAYS OFF.
