What grade are you in?

7th

Where do you attend school?

Winkler Middle School

What sport(s) do you play?

I have played soccer and baseball but now my primary sport is Swim. I am also in Coach Michael’s PE class at Rose Performance.

Why did you first choose your sport?

I enjoy swimming because I can be with my friends and I was pretty good at Butterfly.

Why do you continue to play your sport?

I continue to enjoy being in the water and I am fortunate that my friends are also still swimming with me.

If you could achieve anything you wished for in your sport, what would it be?

I would like to get better at breaststroke.

How important is achieving your sporting goals to you?

Medium

What emotions do you feel when you play well?

Excited

What is the one thing you always do after a good performance?

My favorite thing is to go out to eat with my family, I especially like loaded mashed potatoes.

What do you do to calm your butterflies while you compete?

Talking with friends help me relax best.

If you could play another sport, what would it be?

Flag football.

8 years old

What is your favorite food to eat the night before a big competition?

Anything that fills me up!

Who inspired you as a young athlete?

Michael Phelps

What one word describes you?

Compassionate

Who was your favorite coach and why?

Coach Darcy was my first swim coach at Cabarrus Country Club. It was her kindness and her helping me learn how to improve at the areas of swim I struggled with.

What do you give up to play sports?

Electronics – video games, videos, TV

Do you think attitude is a factor in winning?

Yes, it is important to be focused on positive items

What image gets you ready to compete?

I do not have an image, instead I go blank.

How does athletics make you a better student or worker?

I can let any of my frustrations out during my swim workouts.
